Jiminy Peak Race Team Weekly Update - Week 12 Edition
This weekend we get a break in the action from the race circuit, which allows us to refocus our attention on training as we gear up for the final stretch of the season. We also have the unique opportunity to watch some of the best collegiate ski racers in the country tackle our home hill with Williams College hosting their Winter Carnival on Friday and Saturday - try to sneak out to Jiminy during the day Friday to watch some great ski racing! Our plan for the weekend follows:
Friday, February 16
U18/U16/U14/U12: Meet coaches on Crane Patio at 5PM ready to ski; SL skis and protective gear recommended. We hope to have a SL course set on Ace of Spades for the session.
Saturday, February 17
U18/U16: SL training on Ace of Spades; meet coaches at 8:50AM on Ace of Spades ready to ski SL gates; SL skis and protective gear
U14/U12: SL training on Race Arena; meet coaches at 9AM on Race Arena ready to ski SL gates; SL skis and protective gear
U10/U8: Meet coaches on Crane Patio at 9AM ready to ski for coach directed free-skiing and drills
Sunday, February 18
U18/U16: GS training on Lower Exhibition/Exhibition East; meet coaches at 8:50AM on Lower Exhibition ready to ski GS gates; GS skis and gear
U14/U12: GS training on Race Arena; meet coaches at 9AM on Race Arena ready to ski GS gates; GS skis and gear recommended.
U10/U8: Meet coaches on Crane Patio at 9AM ready to ski for coach directed free-skiing and drills
Please keep in mind that this is a holiday weekend and the beginning of what is typically the busiest week of the season at Jiminy. Let’s all go out of our way to be courteous to those with whom we are sharing the mountain and make sure to MIND THE SLOW ZONES!
